Not for one minute am I advocating that you become a doctor overnight and start self medicating. Nor am I suggesting that all ailments can be cured naturally – that would be irresponsible and naive.
From my own experience; however, I swear by a couple of natural remedies that I use in my life. The first is Sage.
The minute that I start to feel a cold or flu coming on, I drink Sage tea for a couple of days and before I know it, my cold is gone. I have been doing that for many years now and I can honestly say that I cannot recall the last time that I had to visit a doctor or take tablets for a cold.
Sage has wonderful medicinal properties and because I know it works, I now grow it in my back yard in a pot. When I feel a cold is coming on or if I have congestion in my chest or head, I simply pick some of the Sage leaves, put them in a tea pot, pour boiled water over them, let sit for a minute or so and drink the tea. You can drink the tea hot or cold and while the taste is unusual, you can certainly tolerate it knowing that it is doing you good.
Interestingly, my wife woke yesterday morning feeling a bit out of sorts and thought she had a cold coming on. Out to the back yard I went, picked some sage and made her a big pot of Sage tea and within 24 hours, there is no cold in sight.
The second natural remedy that I rely on is Tea Tree ointment made from Tea Tree oil which comes from Melaleuca alternifolia which is an Australian Native plant. I use the ointment on my skin to help heal cuts and abrasions as well as insect bites. I also use it on a spot on my face that tends to get dry and flaky. Wherever I go, I always take my Tea Tree ointment with me as I am lost without it.
This short YouTube video, shows a charming young lady talking about Tea Tree oil and how she uses it in her daily life. Her main use for it is for acne control but this is only one use for it. I use it for all sorts of situations and this is a natural remedy that I can highly recommend. Check out the video – I am sure it will open your eyes. Obviously before trying out products for the first time, do your own research to make sure they are suitable for you and your family.
Throughout this site, I will be highlighting many natural remedies that have worked for a variety of ailments. If you would rather find a natural solution to whatever ailment that you have, then I hope that my site will be useful for you. Obviously, you will need to do your own research on a particular treatment or product to ensure it is suitable for you and when in doubt, consult with your own doctor.

I had not heard of sage tea for a cold coming on, I have usually tried Zinc lozenges (with a couple of iron supplements to follow), and the zind lozenges with its additional herbs seems to do the trick, but I think I will pick some wild sage here and give it a whirl. Thanks
Don’t be put off by the taste. It grows on you after a while but the important thing is that it will help you to get on top of your cold quicker than any other remedy that I have tried.
I found your website great. thanx
